This International Standard specifies the re and testmethods for reclosable packages designated as resistant to openingby children. Acceptance criteria are given for the package whentested by specified methods. These methods not only provide ameasure of the effectiveness of the package in restricting accessby children but also cover the accessibility to the contents byadults. Reclosable packages for any product intended to be exposedor removed from the packaging in normal use are covered by theprocedures. This International Standard is intended for typeapproval only (see 3.1) and is not intended for assurancepurposes. Means of performing the test on a series of similarpackages are given in Annex A and guidance for persons carrying outthe tests is given in Annex B and Annex C.

a、Composition of test group试验组组成

Enough children to ensure 200 valid participants between theages of 42 and 51 months inclusive, with an even distribution ofage and sex, shall be available. As far as possible they shallrepresent the social, ethnic and cultural origins of the country asa whole. They shall all be healthy with no evident physical ormental handicap associated with manual dexterity. They shall nothave taken part in more than one previous test and, in that test, apackaging of a different type with opening arrangements based on adifferent principle shall have been involved. b、Location位置

The children shall perform the test in any place with which theyare familiar, e.g. in their usual school or kindergarten, but theyshall be removed from the general school population and separatedfrom extraneous distractions. Several venues should be selectedfrom different demographic areas. The test may be carried out on all 200 children or by ase procedure. If the latter is used, the number of childrentested will depend on the results obtained (see 6.1.2).
