中空玻璃是用两片（或三片）玻璃，使用高强度高气密性复合粘结剂，将玻璃片与内含干燥剂的铝合金框架粘结，制成的高效能隔音隔热玻璃。中空玻璃多种性能优越于普通双层玻璃，得到了的认可，中空玻璃是将两片或多片玻璃以有效支撑均匀隔开并周边粘结密封，使玻璃层间形成有干燥气体空间的玻璃制品。其主要材料是玻璃、暖边间隔条、弯角栓、丁基橡胶、聚硫胶、干燥剂。
中空玻璃是一种良好的隔热、隔富、美观适用、并可降低建筑物自重的新型建筑材料，被广泛应用于建筑物门窗，幕墙、隔断和冰箱等。
中空玻璃/隔热玻璃特性
-光学性能：根据组合中空玻璃原片性能的不同，一般可见光透过率范围为7～80%，反射率为10~42%.
-热学性能：可有效降低传热系数，若充入惰性气体可降低传热系数U值。
-隔音性能：一般中空玻璃可降低噪音30分贝左右，而充入惰性气体后中空玻璃隔音效果可提高。
-防结霜性能·国家标准规定中空玻璃露点必须低于－40℃，确保中空玻璃中空气层干燥、不结露。
-密封性：铝间隔框采用自动弯管技术一次成型，大限度地减少接驳处；采用丁基胶和聚硫胶或结构胶双道密封，确保中空玻璃的密封性并延长莫使用寿命。
