UL1240
These requirements cover electric commercial, industrial, andinstitutional clothes-drying equipment intended for use inaccordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. Equipmentcovered by this Standard is not intended for use by the generalpublic, but only by trained or supervised personnel.
These requirements do not cover coin-operated clothes-dryingequipment, flatirons, ironing machines, water heaters, watersofteners, dry-cleaning machines, garment-finishing machines,clothes washers, or other equipment covered by requirementsseparate from this standard.
Appliances and field-attached accessories including those thatutilize some other source of energy – such as gas or steam– inaddition to electric energy are investigated under theserequirements and under such additional requirements as areapplicable to the appliance under consideration.
